  • Berubicin - Fast Track Designation

In my weekly search for new research and information on glioblastoma, I came across a drug that was just given a fast track designation by the FDA - Berubicin. It is in the same class as a common chemotherapy - doxorubicin - but it supposedly crosses the blood brain barrier more effectively. Anyone have any experience with the trials that are currently looking at this new drug? I know that the fast track designation does not mean that it works or is safe, but you have to try to find hope where you can, right? I cannot find anything on pubmed about it, strangely.

It sounds promising but it is still early. I do not know anyone in that trial.

What I liked about them is that they seem to have a potential to help as adjuvant therapy while people pursue traditionally accepted therapies like Temodar, radiation, and surgery.
